Candy Blue is a new musical that takes its cue from the timeless classics by greats like Rogers & Hammerstein and Ashman and Menkin. In this romantic comedy, Candy, a tough girl from the streets, meets Peter, a sheltered boy from the suburbs, and they fight against their pre-ordained stories to learn from each other, grow as adults, and fall in love.
Candy Blue successfully completed a round of workshopping and recording in Portland Oregon, and in 2024 is currently being workshopped in the Bay Area. Local talent has been brought in to record audio and video media to start the process of rolling out promotion of the musical on social media and to key stakeholders in the industry.
Lo Erin Jackson (Candy)
Lo is very excited to be workshopping this snazzy new musical with some amazing local talent! She most recently sang with AfterGlow Chorus as a soprano and featured soloist. Lo studied Musical Theatre Performance at Heidelberg University, where she crafted her love of storytelling and her passion for art as a tool for social justice advocacy. Some of her favorite performances have been her one-woman show for her senior capstone, portraying Judy Bernly in “9 to 5,” and Jo March in “Little Women.” For fun, Lo enjoys mindful movement (such as yoga and dancing) and being creative in any medium available to her (mostly painting and photography). She would like to thank Gregory for this incredible opportunity and her family for always supporting her passions.
Gregory Anderson (Creator)
In addition to being the creator of Candy Blue, the Musical, Gregory pays piano on all recordings, sings male chorus parts in many of the recordings, and is the male lead placeholder vocalist during the talent-recruiting process. Gregory has performed in numerous regional theater procuctions in the Bay Area and Portland, including lead roles in Guys and Dolls and Gilbert & Sullivan's Ruddigore. He has also sung with the Afterglow Chorus, and has played bass and sung in a number of folk/bluegrass bands, including Broken Pick in Virginia, and an as-yet-to-be-named group based in Oakland, CA.
